What We Believe – Statement of Faith

1
The Bible is the inerrant, authoritative Word of God inspired by the Holy Spirit.
(2 Timothy 3:16; John 17:17)
2
There is one God, existing eternally in three persons: God the Father, God the Son (Jesus), and God the Holy Spirit.
(John 1:1; Philippians 2:5-7; Acts 5:4)
3
Man is created in the image of God and was created for eternal fellowship with God, but became separated from God as the consequence of sin.
(Genesis 2:16-17; Romans 3:23)
4
There is no other means of reconciliation to God except through the Lord Jesus Christ, who gave His life for the sins of mankind. He was born of a virgin, crucified, dead and buried, raised from the dead on the third day by the power of God and declared to be Lord of all. All who come to God must come through the Lord Jesus because there is salvation in none other.
(Isaiah 7:14; John 14:6; Romans 10:9-10; Revelation 1:5-6)
5
Salvation is a free gift that God offers to all. By accepting God’s salvation which is only available through Jesus Christ, we enter into a personal relationship with God. By acknowledging that we have sinned and believing in the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ, and accepting Him as Lord, we can spend eternity with God.
(Ephesians 2:8-9; Romans 3:24; Romans 10:13)
6
We believe that marriage is between one man and one woman. Both marriage and family are instituted by God, and healthy, stable families are essential for the church to be effective in fulfilling its mission. Parents are called by God to walk in the character of Christ and to train their children in the nurture and loving discipline of the Lord Christ. We uphold the sanctity of marriage between a man and a woman
(Mark 10:6-9; Ephesians 5:22-6:4)
7
We believe in water baptism, as taught and demonstrated by Jesus, as the way for all believers in Christ to identify with His death, burial, and resurrection.
(Matthew 3:13-17; Matthew 28:19)
8
We believe the Baptism in the Holy Spirit is a gift from God and empowers the believer to develop the character of Christ and live according to God’s will as revealed in the Holy Scriptures.
(Acts 2:4; Acts 19:1-6)
9
We believe that God gives all believers spiritual gifts that are active and relevant today, and they help believers’ continue Jesus’ ministry of deliverance, healing, and restoration. Healing includes physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual restoration.
(1 Corinthians 12:4-11; Psalm 107:20; Matthew 8:17; Acts 10:38)
10
We believe that hell is a real place. The Bible describes it as a place of eternal suffering, torment, and separation from God for all who die without accepting Christ as Lord and Savior. God doesn’t want anyone to be separated from Him, which is why He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to earth.
(Hebrews 9:27; Revelation 20:12-15; John 3:13-16)
11
Jesus will return and take all those who accepted Him as Savior to be with Him for eternity.
(Acts 1:11; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-17; Revelation 22:1-5)
